Frequently asked questions

How do I unlock the other decks?

The first deck is free. The remaining decks and the driving assistant unlock by watching a short video. There is nothing to buy and no subscription.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no password, and no name or email required. Your progress and settings are stored on your device.

The driving assistant is not vibrating. What should I check?

  • Make sure you have started the assistant, not just opened its screen.
  • Confirm the app has location permission. On iOS this is Settings, then Wheel Wize, then Location, set to While Using the App. Without it, the assistant cannot tell whether the car is moving.
  • Check whether it has paused itself. The assistant stops prompting while the car is stationary and resumes once you are moving again.
  • Check that vibration is not disabled in your phone's own accessibility or sound settings.

Why does the app ask for my location?

Only to know how fast you are going, so the assistant can pause itself while you are stopped instead of buzzing at every red light. Your location stays on your device and is never uploaded to us or anyone else.

Does it keep working with the screen off?

Yes. The assistant is designed to keep running in the background while you drive, so you can start it, put the phone in its mount, and leave it alone.

Can I change how often it reminds me?

Yes. The reminder interval and the vibration intensity are both adjustable in the assistant's settings, along with whether sound cues play alongside the vibration.

It reacts to bumps in the road, not real hard braking.

Lower the sensitivity in the assistant's settings. Sensitivity runs on a five-step scale, and a lower setting requires a stronger movement before the alert fires. If it is missing genuine hard stops instead, raise it.

Does the assistant drain my battery?

It uses GPS and motion sensors continuously while running, so it uses more battery than an idle app. We recommend keeping the phone on a charger in the car during longer drives.

How do I delete my data?

Uninstalling the app removes your progress and settings, since they live on your device. If you have sent feedback through the app and want it removed, email us and we will delete it.

Is the content official driver's license material?

No. Wheel Wize covers rules and habits that apply broadly across the US and Canada, but it is not produced by any motor vehicle authority. Requirements vary by state, province, and territory, and they change. Always confirm current rules with your local authority before relying on anything here for a test or license application.

Safety

Wheel Wize is a study and awareness aid. It is not a certified driver safety device and not a substitute for professional instruction or your own attention while driving. Never interact with your phone while driving. Set up the assistant before you start moving.
