Wheel Wize Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Wheel Wize (the “App”) is a driving education app for Android and iOS, developed and operated by Salforge (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to all users of the App in the United States, Canada, and any other country where the App is made available.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, certain information is collected automatically through third-party services we use:

Feedback: if you submit feedback through the App, we collect the text you write along with basic diagnostic information to help us troubleshoot: your device model, operating system version, app version, and general app state (for example, how many lesson decks you have completed). We do not ask for your name, email address, or other contact details as part of feedback, unless you choose to type them into the feedback text yourself.

2.3 Location Used On Your Device Only

When you start the driving assistant, the App asks for permission to use your device’s location while you are using the App. It uses this for two purposes: to read your current speed, so mirror reminders pause automatically when you are stopped and resume when you start moving again, and to keep the reminders running while your screen is off or you are using another app. On Android the App shows an ongoing notification for as long as the assistant is running, and on iOS your status bar shows the system location indicator, so it is always visible when location is in use.

Your location is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else. The App reads your speed, compares it against a threshold, and discards it. It does not store your coordinates, does not keep a history or map of where you have driven, and does not include any location information in analytics, crash reports, advertising requests, or feedback submissions.

You can decline or later revoke this permission in your device settings. The App will continue to work, but the driving assistant will not run, because it depends on location both to detect that you are moving and to keep operating with the screen off. Because the assistant uses location continuously while it is on, running it will use more battery than normal app use, which is why it only runs during the sessions you explicitly start and stops when the session ends.

2.4 Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not require you to create an account, and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, or date of birth. The App does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library. As described in Section 2.3, the App does not collect or transmit your location. The driving assistant also uses your device’s motion sensors to detect phone movement during a drive, and like your location, this sensor data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to operate and improve the App, including to diagnose and fix bugs and crashes, to understand which features are used and how, to serve and measure the rewarded video ads that unlock App content, to respond to feedback you submit, and to protect the App and its users from abuse.

4. Advertising

The App is supported in part by rewarded video ads served through Google AdMob. You choose when to watch an ad in exchange for unlocking App content. Ads are not shown automatically or continuously.

Ads may be personalized, based on advertising identifiers and ad interaction history, or non-personalized, based on limited contextual information only, depending on your device permissions, your region, and the age-related handling described in Section 6 below. On iOS, personalized ads and the underlying advertising identifier (IDFA) are only used if you grant permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, the App still shows ads, and may use Apple’s SKAdNetwork framework to measure ad performance without identifying your device individually.

You can generally control ad personalization at the device level, through your Android or iOS settings, for example by resetting your advertising identifier or opting out of interest-based ads.

5. Your Choices

The App includes a setting, in the App’s Settings screen, that lets you turn off analytics and crash-reporting data sharing at any time. When this setting is off, we stop sending new analytics and crash events for your device. Turning it off does not delete data already sent before you changed the setting.

Because the App does not use accounts, there is no “delete my account” process. If you want data associated with your feedback submissions removed, contact us using the information in Section 10, and we will make reasonable efforts to locate and delete it, understanding that anonymous data cannot always be tied back to a specific request.

6. Children’s Privacy

Wheel Wize is intended for a mixed audience, including learner drivers who may be under the age of 13, for example students preparing for a driver’s permit. Because of this, we design the App’s data practices to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent Canadian requirements for anyone who may be a child.

We do not knowingly collect personal information, such as name, email address, or location, from any user, including children under 13. This includes the driving assistant: as described in Section 2.3, it reads location on the device to determine speed and never transmits it, so no child’s location is collected, stored, or shared. The analytics, crash, and advertising data described in Section 2 are collected on an aggregated or pseudonymous basis and are not used to build a profile identifying an individual child.

Advertising shown within the App is treated as directed to a mixed audience that may include children under 13. Consistent with Google’s policies for such apps, ad requests from the App are configured to request non-personalized, contextual advertising rather than behavioral or interest-based advertising, and third-party ad networks are instructed not to serve interest-based or remarketing ads within the App. Because of this, the personalized advertising described in Section 4 does not apply while this child-directed configuration is active.

If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided us with personal information beyond what is described in this Policy, please contact us using the information in Section 10 and we will investigate and delete it as appropriate. Parents and guardians in the United States and Canada have the right to review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child’s personal information, and we will honor such requests to the extent we hold identifiable data responsive to them.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes. We share information only with the service providers who help us run the App, specifically:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, property, or safety of the App, our users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this Policy would continue to apply to your information under the new ownership.

8. Data Retention

We retain analytics and crash data for the periods set by Firebase’s default retention settings, currently up to 14 months for Analytics event data, unless we configure a different period. Feedback submissions are retained for as long as needed to review and act on them, and are periodically deleted once no longer needed.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including access-controlled Firestore database rules and reliance on Google’s infrastructure for the services described in Section 7. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights and Contact Information

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because the App does not collect identifying information tied to a name or account, most requests will relate to feedback submissions (Section 2.2) or a request to stop analytics sharing (Section 5).

11. International Users

The App is offered in the United States and Canada. Information collected through the services described in Section 7 may be processed on servers located in the United States or other countries where Google operates, which may have different data protection laws than your own country.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Policy.
